Towngas supports HYAB Scheme on Corporate Summer Internship on the Mainland and Overseas 2025 and offers mainland internship opportunities to nurture young talent

(13 February 2025) To nurture more young talent and seize national development opportunities, The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) continues to support and participate in the HYAB Scheme on Corporate Summer Internship on the Mainland and Overseas 2025. The Company will offer 13 mainland internship positions to Hong Kong tertiary students during this year’s summer holiday, covering various business areas, including city gas engineering, new energy, human resources, administration, marketing, investment, and insurance, helping them enhance their competitiveness and expand their development opportunities.

This marks Towngas’s fifth year participating in the Scheme. Selected interns will be assigned to different cities on the Chinese mainland for an eight-week summer internship involving departments such as safety management, energy and carbon emissions management, human resources, engineering and technology, operations management, smart kitchen, and insurance business. Towngas will cover major expenses, including transportation and accommodation costs for the interns, provide a series of training courses, and assign dedicated staff to support them, enhancing their workplace skills and competitiveness.

Over the past four years, Towngas has provided internship opportunities to more than 60 students. Mr Lam Ming-wing, Chief HR Officer of Towngas, encourages qualified tertiary students to actively apply for the Scheme, “Towngas’s mainland businesses span 29 provincial regions with over 900 projects. Interning on the mainland will help students understand actual enterprise operations and gain insights into the latest developments and workplace culture of the mainland gas and new energy industries, broadening their horizons and enabling them to better grasp development opportunities on the mainland.”

Towngas will continue to provide diverse and comprehensive training and internship opportunities for young people, helping them discover their potential and expanding Hong Kong’s talent pool.
