Henderson Land and Towngas Welcome Saudi Aramco to Hong Kong to Deepen Collaboration and Foster Greater Synergy

The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (“Towngas”) (Stock code: 3), welcomed
Saudi Arabian Oil Group (“Saudi Aramco”), the world’s leading integrated energy and chemicals enterprise, to Hong Kong, engaging in a fruitful exchange to deepen synergy and strengthen collaboration efforts.
Dr Peter Lee Ka-kit, Chairman of Henderson Land Group and Towngas, met with
Mr Ahmad O. Al-Khowaiter, Executive Vice President Technology & Innovation of Saudi Aramco, and his senior executive team to discuss their joint interests in the development of smart energy solutions, Towngas’ investment achievements in the hydrogen business, and
EcoCeres — an innovative advanced biorefinery company incbated by Towngas with expansion plans to open a second production facility in Malaysia.
Based upon their existing joint investments in energy storage projects, Dr Peter Lee Ka-kit and Mr Ahmad O. Al-Khowaiter also explored in depth areas of collaboration such as biofuels, energy storage, Energy as a Service, and hydrogen energy.
Dr Peter Lee Ka-kit said: “Following our visit to Saudi Aramco’s headquarters in May, we are delighted to host the Saudi Aramco team in Hong Kong, introducing our plans and progress in developing and applying smart energy technologies and solutions. The visit underscores our shared vision to tackle the global climate crisis, opening up new avenues of collaboration to leverage our combined strengths and make strides in the green energy landscape. This also coincides with the Belt and Road Initiative to cultivate and reinforce synergy between mainland China and the Middle East, as well as the Hong Kong Government’s efforts to advance carbon neutrality and enhance regional connectivity through attracting foreign investments and joint ventures for sustained economic growth.”
Both Henderson Land and Towngas are committed to accelerating the global transition to a zero-carbon green economy.
