Kenny Tang

Engineer
Emergency Services Section

I have joined Towngas for several years, and I am responsible for handling emergency cases at the Emergency Services team to minimise the impact caused by the incident and at best ensure our customers’ safety.

In recent years, I have actively participated in the Business Process Reengineering (BPR) project of the company through conducting in-depth research, performing thorough analysis and providing insights to business areas such as gas pipe network, customer service and retail marketing, etc., to optimise the whole production and service delivery process. We aim at providing a more caring, competent and efficient service to our customers. I am also the member of the District Council Focus Team to foster close relationship with the communities through regular activities.

In future, I look forward to a comprehensive and professional development, and continue to serve the community with the company.

Senior Network Fitter
Distribution Operation

I am mainly responsible for underground pipe connection, emergency maintenance and leakage survey work to ensure a safe gas supply network.

Joining the Towngas family for 10 years, I am always encouraged to tackle everyday challenges with proactive working attitude and innovative mindset. In 2016, I was lucky to represent my Department to take part in Towngas MasterCraft competition and obtained an award. During the competition, colleagues not only learned from each other to polish our technical skills, but also promoted friendship as well as team spirit.

In the future, I aim at enhancing my professional knowledge through continuous learning. By grasping every opportunity at work, I hope to pass on Towngas craftsmanship culture to others.

Business Planning Manager
Manufacturing Business

Joining Towngas through the Graduate Trainee Programme, I have gained invaluable experience in the engineering field. With the company’s business expansion, I joined G-Tech Piping System Company Limited, working on quality assurance for the piping and jointing parts systems.

Different from the job of a gas engineer, I am happy to take part in different projects, of which the most unforgettable assignment was being the project manager in preparing the commissioning of G-Tech’s second PE pipe factory in Maanshan, China.  I have to work closely with various parties from factory design, construction, to production line selection. Procedures in the pipe manufacturing business are interdependent which allow me to realize that internal communication and cooperation are crucial to every single detail.

Looking ahead, I hope to capture opportunities at work by attempting different roles for a full-fledged development, and grow with G-Tech.

Technician
Customer Maintenance Services

My work under Customer Maintenance Services Department is mainly related to pipe maintenance. Ever since the Apprenticeship programme, Towngas has been giving me numerous opportunities to participate in events and attachments at different departments. All these experiences can strengthen my professional skills and technical knowledge.

Innovation is the core value of Towngas, which can be found in many departments. Colleagues keep inventing practical tools for reducing the risk and enhancing the efficiency. For instance, full inspection of building wall could be very difficult. Therefore, we have designed a robot to do the inspection. From testing to production, our department has been working actively to ensure that the invention of the robot can reduce the safety risk.

Apart from my work, I also enjoy participanting in many external activities with my colleagues. For example, I joined the micro-movie competition of Electrical and Mechanical Services Department for showing my team’s creativity. In the future, I also expect to explore more in other events and opportunities!
