To transform into a leading clean and smart energy supplier, we actively pursue opportunities in low-carbon energy development opportunities through technology and investment in emerging concepts and technologies. This drives the development of renewable energy, food waste utilisation, and new energy sources such as green methanol, hydrogen, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) – all of which are applicable to maritime, land and air transport.
To integrate environmental factors (including climate and nature-related), social dimensions and responsible business conduct into investment decision-making process, while also taking into account our impact on nature, we have incorporated ESG Due Diligence and Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP) into all new city gas and distributed photovoltaic projects meeting specified criteria.

Accordingly, we incentivise ideas from our staff and the wider community, which enable our continuous growth and contribute to our low-carbon future.
Internally, we have established platforms and initiatives such as Towngas Hall of Innovation, Hall of Future Energy, and G = i x i Lab, which inspire our staff to think creatively. If an idea is considered feasible, we will provide the funding needed to help bring the concept to life.
Externally, through collaborations with international institutions and universities, we enhance our research capabilities and drive innovation. The Technology Application Centre (TAC) serves as the Group’s unified platform for R&D and innovation implementation, coordinating resource allocation to build an open and collaborative technology ecosystem. Jointly spearheaded by Towngas and Full Vision Capital Limited, the TERA-Award offers strategic partnerships, expert mentorship and industry resources for the winner. This initiative serves as an international accelerator platform for smart energy and zero-carbon technologies, fostering innovation from concept to application.
