We have been engaged in the water supply and wastewater treatment business since 2005 through our wholly owned subsidiary, Hong Kong & China Water Limited (Hua Yan Water). At present, Hua Yan Water’s businesses include water supply, domestic sewage and industrial wastewater treatment, serving more than 2 million customers.
We have also expanded our businesses to urban waste utilisation and organic waste treatment, providing integrated environmental sanitation solutions. Our plants can process food waste, green waste and landfill leachate for conversion into natural gas, oil products and solid fuel. In 2025, we processed 1.72 million tonnes of solid waste, while producing over 10 million cubic metres of biomass natural gas.
The used cooking oil recovered by our food waste processing plants serve as the primary feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production by EcoCeres, a company incubated by Towngas to meet the world’s growing demand.
