Towngas explores green technology at “Innovation x Energy Transition” conference

In the face of the increasingly severe crisis of climate change, sustainability has become an important topic for all of mankind. On 3 November, Towngas hosted a sustainability conference entitled “Innovation x Energy Transition”, inviting industry experts and academics to share their thoughts on addressing climate change.

In his opening speech, Alfred Chan, Managing Director of Towngas, said that global warming will be the key issue in the future. Towngas will fully utilise the opportunities provided by our country and exploit increasingly mature smart energy technologies to consolidate its business and explore new opportunities in line with our country’s direction for development.

Guests of the conference include: Prof. Christine Loh and Prof. Minhua Shao from the Division of Environment and Sustainability and Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering of HKUST, respectively; Prof. Leung Wing-mo and Prof. Eric Cheng from the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics and Department of Electrical Engineering of PolyU, respectively; Don Cheng, General Manager - Commercial & Industrial Marketing & Sales of Towngas; Kenny Chan, Vice President of Siemens Energy Limited and Bruce Chong, Director of ARUP.

Various topics were discussed at the conference, including COP26, Ammonia Fuel Cell Vehicles, Hydrogen Fuel Cells, Towngas smart energy technology and other smart energy management systems among others, during which guests shared insights and experience. At his closing speech, Peter Wong, Deputy Managing Director of Towngas, remarked that the Company will continue working on developing smart energy and collaborating with various sectors of the community to build a sustainable future through cooperative efforts.

The conference attracted close to 80 attendees on site and over 1,000 online from Hong Kong as well as mainland China, who shared an opportunity for learning and exchange on relevant topics.
