Towngas 230,000 mooncakes for the less fortunate
Organised by Towngas, the Mooncake for Love Programme took place recently for the tenth consecutive year. This year, Towngas achieved a new high with the breaking of last year’s record - with the help and support of over 520 legislative council and district council members, as well as 55 non-profit organisations, over 230,000 mooncakes were distributed to the elderly and the less fortunate in the community during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The activity brings warmth and care to different communities, including the elderly, disabled, low income families and single parent families, in Hong Kong.
On 11 September, team members from the Eastern District Council and Towngas Volunteer Service Team, led by the Hon Jasper Tsang Yok Sing, G.B.S.，J.P., President of the Legislative Council and James Kwan Yuk Choi, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Towngas, distributed mooncakes to the over 600 elderly guests to celebrate the mid-autumn festival.
Towngas also joined hands with the China Hong Kong City to organise the “Love from Kids Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration” event. Children from both Hong Kong and South East Asia presented handmade lanterns and mooncakes to each other to spread the message of love and caring across the district and across the region.
