Committed to caring for society, Towngas began organising the “Mooncakes for Community” activity in 2001 to share the warmth with the underprivileged. This year, we distributed 140,000 mooncakes across different areas of Hong Kong, among a cumulative total of 2.7 million since the activity’s launch.
On the eve of Mid-Autumn Festival, Towngas collaborated with Christian Family Service Centre in carrying out home visits. Mr Peter Wong Wai-yee, Towngas Deputy Managing Director, led the Company’s volunteers alongside family volunteers from the “Love on Delivery” programme in a visit to elderly singleton residents of the Lei Yue Mun squatter area, presenting them with a festive gift bag, mooncakes and masks as a caring gesture.
Earlier, the Towngas Volunteer Service Team also collaborated with Hong Kong Housing Society to host retro Mid-Autumn-themed activities at Kwun Lung Lau, including performance of classic songs, game booths and lantern riddles to share festive fun with the elderly. Hosted both online and offline, the event saw over 300 seniors participate in a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.
