"Tree-planting Challenge 2012" Recruits
Towngas continues to sponsor Friends of the Earth (HK)'s Tree-planting Challenge 2012, which will take place on 22 April (Sunday). The event is now open for enrolment. Anyone aged 15 or above, who wishes to make a contribution to the environment by helping to plant trees, is welcome to join in and take on this challenge.
The theme for this year’s "Tree-planting Challenge" is "Plant a Wish for a Better Climate". Take action against climate change. Join our tree-planting event – working together, let’s reduce our carbon footprint and help alleviate the impact of global warming.
Mission
1. To plant a designated number of seedlings and complete an approximate distance of 10-13km on a designated hiking course within 6 hours.
2. To carry seedlings and planting tools from Seedling Distribution Point uphill, and to dig pits and plant trees at a designated site.

700 participants (on a first come first served basis)
