Let's Join Low Carbon Living Photo Contest
Helping to drive our Towngas Low Carbon Action! campaign, our Low Carbon Living Photo Contest is now open and ready to receive submissions. All you have to do is submit a photo or photos showing ways, that you think will help to reduce carbon emissions.
Theme
Low Carbon Living: Photos express or demonstrate creative ways to ensure a low carbon lifestyle.
Contest Categories
1) The Low Carbon Lifestyle Tour Demonstrate your low carbon lifestyle initiatives in creative ways, through the use of our Towngas Low Carbon Ambassador puppets – Towngas Boy and/or Tinny in the photos.
| Purchase our Iconic Low Carbon Towngas Boy or Tinny for just HK$30 from any Towngas Customer Centre, Towngas Avenue and Towngas Cooking Centre and create the ideal low carbon image through your camera lens. All proceeds from these sales will be donated to Friends of the Earth (HK) to support environmental activities. |

2) Fun for All – Our Low Carbon Lifestyle Freestyle photo composition demonstrating creative ways to achieve Low Carbon Living.
Submitting a Photo
1) Participants must register at our "Low Carbon Action!" website to pledge for a low carbon lifestyle. (If you haven't registered yet you can log onto www.lowcarbonaction.com and do so now!)
2) Participants can only enter once (submitting no more than three photos) either in one or both categories.
3) Photo(s) must be submitted by email to lowcarbonaction@towngas.com, together with a description(s) of no more that 50 words, by 31 August 2010. Please also include your personal information: Name, Registered Email Address for "Low Carbon Action!", Email Contact and Contact Phone Number, with your entry. Participants should also specify "Towngas Low Carbon Living Photo Contest Entry" as the subject of the email.
The Judging Committee
The Low Carbon Living Photo Contest Judging Committee includes a representative from Towngas; Mr Edwin Lau, Director of Friends of the Earth (HK); Mr. Samson So, Director of Eco Institute and Ms. G.E.M. Tang, the renowned singer and our Towngas Low Carbon Living Photo Contest Ambassador.
Judging Criteria
Requirements include creativity, practicality (adequately addressing the issue of Low Carbon Living), inspirational (motivating others to reduce their carbon footprint), skillful technique and aesthetic composition.
In addition to the above criteria, judges will also consider how well our Iconic Towngas Boy and/or Tinny have been used to demonstrate and express aspects of Low Carbon Living in the Low Carbon Lifestyle Tour Category.
