Recruiting Participants to Join "Tree-planting Challenge 2009"
Towngas continues to sponsor Friends of the Earth (HK)'s the Tree-planting Challenge 2009 (TPC 2009) on 26 April (Sunday). It is now open for enrolment, anyone aged 15 or above and fond of planting trees is welcome to take this challenge.
TPC, known as the most challenging local tree-planting activity, is recruiting "challengers" to restore the woodland of Ping Fung Shan at Pat Sin Leng Country Park, which has been destroyed by several incidences of hill fire since last autumn.
This event aims to let participants experience the hard work of daily tree-planting workers and hill fire working team. Within the 6 hours of hiking, participants are required to deliver over 8 kg seedlings and tools to the designated slope, and walk through the whole hiking course about 10 km in distance, further up along the ascending hiking trail to the Fire Lookout (located at 280m above sea level).
The deadline for enrolment is dated on 31 March. For more details, please visit FoE's website or call 2528 5588.
