To enhance public awareness of carbon reduction and climate change, Towngas sponsored the 5-year “Plantation Enrichment Project (PEP)” coordinated by The Green Earth to make contribution against global warming.
In 2016, The Green Earth started participating in the PEP launched by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department to enhance the ecological values of plantations and enrich biodiversity. With the systematic and long-term conversion process of woodlands, more food and habitats would be available for wild species.
On 7 May, Towngas and The Green Earth organised a tree planting day and invited about 100 employees and customers to plant tree seedlings at Tiu Yue Yung Country Trail of Clearwater Bay. Other than supporting carbon reduction with action, participants had also acquired knowledge about plantation.
