Clarification of Gas Bill Charges

Towngas will revise its tariff from 1 August 2015. Rumour is circulating via the internet and WhatsApp about the charges of gas bills. We would like to clarify as below.

Gas bills issued from 1 August onwards will be charged on pro-rata basis for gas consumption before 1 August. Gas account holders who have opted for self-reading only need to provide meter readings on the usual date.

In the event of missed meter readings in July, tariff will be charged proportionally based on the last available meter readings. In other words, gas consumption in July will only be calculated in old rates.
