Towngas has long been recognised for its proactive sustainability efforts. On 14 December, the Hong Kong Management Association held its 60
th+1 Anniversary Celebration along with the Hong Kong Sustainability Award Presentation Ceremony for 2020/21, at which Towngas received three awards: Grand Award (Large Organisations), Hong Kong Sustainability Award (Large Organisations), and Most Respected Organisation Award. Emerging from numerous corporations as the sole winner of the Grand Award in the Large Organisations category, the accolades highlight the Company’s remarkable performance in the aspects of environment, economy and society, as well as in promoting society’s progress towards a low-carbon future through applying innovative ideas.
With innovation and environmental protection at its core, Towngas has taken the initiative to invest resources in numerous innovative and sustainable projects. Spanning the environmental, economic and social arenas, the Company’s substantial efforts include the development of smart energy, zero-carbon industrial parks, food waste treatment, and beyond. Shouldering its corporate social responsibility, Towngas cares deeply about its community. The Towngas Volunteer Services Team has provided timely assistance to seniors and the underprivileged through various volunteer and charity activities since its establishment decades ago. By promoting public health and an inclusive society as well as enhancing personal welfare, the Team has served to support sustainable development.
Towngas’ all-round sustainability measures have brought about positive impact on its business development as well as society. Going forward, the Company will continue to make good use of technology to exploit smart energy opportunities on its journey towards energy sustainability in order to contribute towards the country’s dual carbon goals.
