Towngas is committed to the promotion of sustainable development. As part of the relevant efforts, the Company joined hands with State Power Investment Corporation Limited to cohost TERA-Award, a smart energy innovation competition which aims to recruit projects from energy start-ups around the world to achieve carbon neutrality. With US$1 million as top prize, the competition is setting a record for technological competitions from the energy industry.
Under the theme of “Exploring zero-carbon innovations for the future”, TERA-Award is the world’s first innovation competition targeting the field of zero-carbon technology, focusing on four fields: energy supply, energy demand, green transportation and the energy internet. Start-up enterprises and innovative project teams from around the world are encouraged to take part. All participating smart energy innovation projects and solutions must possess original technology and patents to be judged by the competition’s professional panel.

The launch ceremony for TERA-Award took place in Beijing and Hong Kong simultaneously on 18 June 2021.
