Towngas Love on Delivery programme recognised under the Construction Industry Volunteer Award Scheme
Under the Construction Industry Volunteer Award Scheme 2021, Towngas and Christian Family Service Centre collaborated on the Love on Delivery programme, for which they received the Excellence in Construction Industry Volunteering Collaboration – Silver Award. The recognition underscores Towngas’ caring culture, as reflected by its commitment to serving the community in spite of the pandemic.
Launched during the pandemic in 2020, Love on Delivery programme addresses the needs of underprivileged families faced with decreased income as a result of job loss or underemployment since the outbreak of the COVID-19. A total of 30,000 fresh food packs were distributed to 1,000 families to offer immediate food expense relief during the pandemic. The programme also provides a channel for social workers to connect with these families through a dedicated social media platform and food pack pick-up points in order to better understand their impending needs and provide timely assistance. The third phase of Love on Delivery programme was launched during May to August this year.
