Concerned with the cramped living conditions of the underprivileged due to Hong Kong’s land supply shortage, Towngas collaborated with St. James’ Settlement to instill the principle of turning waste into treasure in school children, and created practical home accessories by upcycling, thereby enhancing their living space and contributing to environmental protection.
Over 20 members of our MasterCraft Volunteer Team established this year. Lending their strengths to the community, the volunteers partnered one on one with students in Primary 4 to Primary 6 from The Church of Christ in China Kei Tsun Primary School and Ng Wah Catholic Primary School to create small accessories such as wooden shelves, bedside pouches, and wooden wall units through upcycling on 26 October. Not only were the students able to increase storage space in their home for a more comfortable living environment, but they also learned how to turn waste into treasure. At the workshops, the MasterCraft Volunteer Team was also able to share their MasterCraft spirit with the children. As the students tried their hand at making the accessories, they learned about the standards and values of artisanal craftsmanship.
Towngas collaborates with St. James’ Settlement to launch Green Flame Project – Upcycling for a Greener Home, helping underprivileged households improve their living environment.
Members of Towngas’ MasterCraft Volunteer Team and students worked together to create unique home accessories that will increase the storage capacity of home.
