Towngas Organises Hong Kong’s first "Hand-in-Hand Mooncakes-of-Love" Workshop

Towngas cooperated with the Hong Kong Community Network - LINK Centre to organise the first “Hand-in-Hand Mooncakes-of-Love” Workshop in Hong Kong, aiming to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with ethnic minorities and promoted diversity and inclusion. The workshop also kicked off the 16th annual “Towngas Mooncakes for the Community” campaign.

At the workshop, Towngas volunteers and more than 20 Ethnic Minority (EM) kids formed teams to join hands in making the mooncakes. The theme of “diversity and inclusion” was accentuated by adding different colours to the pastry of the mooncakes with the same delicious lotus paste inside.

This marks the 16th year of the “Mooncakes for the Community” campaign. Towngas hopes to spread the spirit of integration, diversity, inclusion and love during the Mid-Autumn Festival by sharing mooncakes with the needy. More than 1.8 million mooncakes-of-love will be distributed across Hong Kong. Following a long tradition, Towngas will invite more than 124 charity groups and local organisations to help distribute over 100,000 mooncakes-of-love to the needy.

Peter Wong Wai Yee, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Towngas (3rd from left), Gill Mohindepaul Singh (2nd from left), Kitty (3rd from right) and Jennie (middle), the two kids actors from movie “Little Big Master”, Singh Taranvir (2nd from right), the Indian HKDSE 7As scorer, led over 20 ethnic minority kids and local volunteers to join hands with an armband and make the “colourful Mooncakes of Love” together.

Apart from the mooncake workshop, Towngas also arranged a lantern making session workshop for EM children to make their own animal lanterns.
