Towngas has been awarded the “Asian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award 2013”, recognising the Company’s many years of experience in knowledge management. Towngas was one of twenty Asian companies who won the award including Samsung from Korea and Toyota from Japan. The company was also named Top Winner of the “Hong Kong Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise Award” and the “Best in Knowledge Culture Award”, for excellent performance in the area of knowledge management.
Since 1992, Towngas has been implementing knowledge management initiatives by demonstrating their expertise, corporate culture, management systems and code of conduct practice to over 100 joint ventures. The Company’s strong performance in knowledge management and intellectual capital has allowed Towngas to develop a diverse business in Hong Kong, Chinese mainland and across the rest of Asia.
The MAKE Award was first launched in 1998 by KNOW Network, an international web-based professional knowledge sharing network, and Teleos, a research firm specialising in knowledge management. There are three categories of MAKE Award – national, regional and global. The awards were first introduced to Hong Kong and Chinese mainland in 2008 by The Knowledge Management and Innovation Research Centre of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in order to recognise organisations’ outstanding performance in knowledge management. This international award is now considered a benchmark of best practice knowledge management.
