Towngas Clinches Business Environment Council's "2007 Hong Kong Awards for Industries: Environmental
Towngas has been honoured for another "Hong Kong Awards for Industries: Environmental Performance Grand Award" presented by the Business Environment Council (BEC) in recognition of outstanding performance in the area of environmental protection.
The Environmental Performance Grand Award is granted to company with an excellent environmental record of achievement. In 2007, Towngas is selected as the Grand Award winner from a total of 37 contestants. The Company is rated highly in all of the key areas for assessment, including company commitment to environmental protection, improvement in environmental performance, and compliance with environmental legislation.
Towngas has made some notable strides toward fostering a sustainable future for Hong Kong, and has received the Award because its environmental policies match the established assessment criteria. The Company has introduced a series of environmental initiatives relating to all aspects of its business, including gas production, plant management, and diversification into other fuels, as well as co-operation with government departments and green groups in promoting environmental protection.
