Towngas receives two accolades at BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards
On 29 May, Towngas received two accolades at the BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards, namely the Gold Award of manufacturing sector and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Environmental Leadership Recognition Award. As the only enterprise to receive two awards this year, Towngas’ environmental operation model in both Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area is well recognised, underscoring its status as a pioneer of sustainable development.
The BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards aim to encourage manufacturing and service enterprises in Hong Kong, Pan-Pearl River Delta and the Greater Bay Area to join forces in assuming corporate social responsibility to reduce regional environmental pollution. With over 600 applications, this year’s event saw the introduction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Environmental Leadership Recognition Award, in support of China’s efforts in promoting Greater Bay Area development. The judging panel assessed enterprises’ environmental performance according to the criteria of comprehensiveness, energy conservation and emission reduction efficiency, innovation, management involvement, as well as positive impact on the environment and the industry.
Towngas received its third Gold Award of manufacturing sector in the past four years as a result of its comprehensive environmental protection policy and large-scale green projects in Hong Kong and mainland China, which utilise waste such as kitchen waste and landfill gas to realise the goal of turning waste into treasure. Going forward, Towngas will continue to support China’s coal-to-gas policy and develop more green projects, and do our part in building a low-carbon living environment.
