Towngas tops CarbonCare® ESG Label 2020 at Level 4
Since Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) elevated the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting Guide disclosure requirement to “comply or explain” on 1 January 2016, investors have continued to raise their expectations on corporations’ information disclosure. With HKEX’s revisions to its ESG Reporting Guide coming into effect on 1 July 2020, application eligibility for the CarbonCare® ESG Label was also elevated in order to reflect the latest international trends, regulator requirements and community demands. The 2020 CarbonCare® ESG Label is designed to recognise enterprises demonstrating excellent performance in four key ESG reporting aspects: company board accountability, materiality assessment, disclosure of social KPIs, and corporate climate actions.
Towngas was awarded Level 4, the highest ranking of the CarbonCare® ESG Label, underscoring its superb performance in ESG reporting.
