Towngas’ high standards of corporate governance has earned it two corporate social responsibility awards recently, underscoring its excellence in promoting sustainable development.
On 6 December, Towngas received the Junzi Corporation Award and Junzi Corporation Popular Brand Award from Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. We were also honoured to be selected from among 20 candidates as the only public utility that received the Junzi Corporation Exemplary Award. The annual Junzi Corporation Award aims to promote the Five Virtues of Junzi — Benevolence, Rightness, Propriety, Wisdom and Trustworthiness — based on Confucian principles, as well as stringent standards of business ethics that emphasise integrity and fairness in enterprise operation.
In addition, on 18 December, Towngas also received The Listed Enterprise Excellence Awards 2019 - Corporate Governance Award organised by Capital Weekly, as recognition of the Company’s superb corporate governance performance.
The Listed Enterprise Excellence Awards 2019 recognises listed companies that have made significant contributions to economic development and social harmony.
Going forward, Towngas will continue to uphold high standards of corporate governance as well as safety and service. In addition to developing innovative and environmentally friendly products to enhance the customer experience, Towngas will also expand its green energy business to build a sustainable community through implementing the principle of transforming waste to treasure.
