Professional Diploma in Gas Engineering

Towngas and VTC jointly offered the first Professional Diploma in Gas Engineering in Hong Kong.  This part time programme is specially designed for working adults and it emphasizes both theoretical and practical knowledge.  Senior and experienced Towngas Engineers/Managers will shoulder up lecturer roles and learners will have opportunities to have their practical work at Towngas Engineering Academy and visit Towngas Environmental Projects, such as the Tseung Kwan O South East New Territories (SENT) Landfill Gas Utilisation Project, the largest landfill gas conversion facility of its kind in Asia.

Entry Requirements

1. 1. Five HKCEE subjects at Grade E/Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, or equivalent, with two years’ work experience; or
2. 2. Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, or equivalent, with one year’s work experience; or
3. 3. Completion of a QF Level 3 programme, or equivalent, with one year’s work experience or currently employed; or
4. 4. Relevant RPL qualification(s) at QF Level 3 or above.
5. 5. Mature applicants, i.e. those aged 21 or above with at least two years’ relevant work experience, may also be accepted. 
6. ××× Where appropriate, the applicant may be required to pass an entrance assessment, which can be in an oral and/or written form.

Tuition Fee and Subsidy
Tuition Fee : $33,500
This programme is under Engineering Training Subsidy Scheme (ETSS).  Successful applicants will be refunded 60% of the tuition fees, subject to a maximum of $45,000 per person.
 
Scholarship
A maximum of 4 scholarships with each $15,000 are offered by Towngas for outstanding performance students in 12-15 months curriculum.

Part-time mode

• 2-night per week, 18:30 – 21:30 or 17:00 -22:00
• Workshop/site visit may be arranged on Saturday (14:00-17:00)
• Venue :  IVE(MH) + Towngas Engineering Academy (workshop)

Enrollment

1. Application period: 31/5/2018 - 25/6/2018
2. Entrance Assessment (mature applicants): 26/6/2018 – 9/7/2018
3. Registration (non-mature applicants): 26/6/2018 – 9/7/2018
